WFM Health Check

A structured review of your live workforce management environment to identify misalignment, inefficiency, risk and missed improvement value.

If your system is live but no longer fully aligned to how your business operates, the issue is rarely obvious from day-today use alone. Our Health Check helps you identify what is underperforming, where value is leaking, and what to prioritise next.

  • Fixed scope review
  • Prioritised recommendations
  • 50% credit against follow-on work

WFM

Independent advice and specialist delivery

Fixed

Scope, cost, and timeframe – no surprises

Your workforce system may still be running, while the business around it has changed. The configuration and supporting processes do not always keep pace.

Why this matters

Live does not always mean aligned

New policies, workforce models, workarounds and reporting needs can reduce the value of an established WFM environment. A system can appear functional while no longer reflecting the way the organisation operates.

Configuration drift

Rules and setups no longer reflect current operational reality. What was right at go-live may now be creating friction, risk, orinaccuracy.

Manual workarounds

Teams compensate outside the platform, adding effort and inconsistency. Workarounds become embedded and invisible over time.

Reporting blind spots

Decision-makers lack the visibility they need. Reports that once served well may no longer reflect current workforce structures or policy.

Process friction

Managers and administrators spend too much time wrestling with the system. Effort that should sit with the platform falls to people instead.

Compliance exposure

Legacy setup choices may no longer support current obligations. Pay-impacting logic, timekeeping rules, and audit trails all carry risk if misaligned.

Missed optimisation value

Capability exists in the platform but is not being used effectively. Invested configuration and licensing value remains unrealised.

New features going unused

Platforms and business needs evolve. We review whether relevant capabilities are being used effectively, confirming availability, licensing and suitability rather than assuming every new feature is included.

The service

A focused review of how your WFM environment is performing

The CDS Health Check is a fixed-scope advisory review for organisations already using a workforce management solution. We agree the platform, areas of review, access and deliverables before assessing alignment with your current business requirements.

This is not a technical audit for its own sake. The review is structured around commercial and operational outcomes – where value is leaking, where risk exists, and where targeted improvement effort will make the biggest difference.

Typical review areas

What you receive

Clear outputs, not vague observations

Every Health Check produces a structured, actionable set of findings – built for stakeholders who need to make decisions, not a technical report for the archive.

Findings summary

A structured view of what is working, where friction exists and which risks or improvement opportunities deserve attention across the agreed WFM scope.

Prioritised recommendations

Practical next steps ranked by impact, urgency, and feasibility – so effort goes where it will make the most difference fastest.

Quick wins

Immediate opportunities to reduce friction, improve system performance, or correct configuration drift without wider project spend.

Forward roadmap

A clearer view of where targeted optimisation effort should go next – a foundation for confident planning rather than reactive firefighting.

Who it is for

This is for you if any of this sounds familiar

A Health Check is useful when workforce systems and processes affect operational performance, compliance responsibilities or cost. Start with a conversation so we can confirm the relevant platform expertise and review scope.

✓

Your system is live but you are not confident it still reflects how your business operates. Policies have changed, teams have restructured, or new obligations have emerged – but the configuration has not kept pace.

✓

You are seeing friction, workarounds, or manual effort that should not be there. Managers are compensating outside the system, payroll corrections are recurring, or your team spends more time managing the platform than using it.

✓

You are responsible for the platform but lack a clear picture of where it stands. You inherited the system, or it has grown organically over time, and you have no structured view of what is working, what is not, and what the risks are.

✓

You suspect your current setup is not delivering the value it could. We assess relevant capabilities and workarounds, then confirm which improvements are feasible within your platform and licence scope.

Common questions

What you need to know

What is included in the WFM Health Check?

The Health Check covers configuration and rule alignment, scheduling and workforce policy setup, timekeeping and pay-impacting logic, reporting and visibility, integrations, administrative processes, user experience, and known workarounds. The scope is agreed with you at the outset.

Is this suitable if our system is already live and stable?

Yes. The Health Check is specifically designed for live environments. Stability in day-to-day use does not mean the configuration is still aligned to how your business operates. Drift is often invisible until it is reviewed directly.

How long does the Health Check take?

The timeframe depends on the scope agreed, but the process is fixed and structured. We will confirm the expected timeline during the initial conversation before any commitment is made.

Do we need to be a current CDS client?

You do not need to be an existing CDS client. We first confirm your platform, requirements and the review we can support, then agree the scope before work begins.

Will CDS only identify issues, or also help fix them?

The Health Check produces findings and recommendations. If you choose to act on those findings, CDS can move into a separate optimisation engagement. The 50% credit option makes that a commercially sensible path.

What happens after the review?

You receive a structured findings report with prioritised recommendations and quick wins. From there you can act independently, engage CDS for follow-on work, or simply use the findings to inform your planning. There is no obligation to proceed further.
